Overview
As we begin to say goodbye to a scorching summer and look ahead to cooler days, we’re excited to share the new Autumn/Winter season at Cambridge Corn Exchange. Our brand-new seasonal brochure is out now showcasing a packed programme of live music, comedy, fascinating speakers, and festive favourites heading to the venue over the coming months.
It wouldn’t be the Cambridge Corn Exchange without some unforgettable live music, and there is plenty heading our way this upcoming season. In the following months, we see local rock giants Don Broco bring their explosive live show to Cambridge, while indie favourites Shed Seven, Embrace, and Ocean Colour Scene each make a much-welcome return to the venue to celebrate 30-year milestones. Expect riotous anthems, plenty of nostalgia and some serious singalongs.
Comedy lovers are also in for a treat with Taskmaster favourites Maisie Adam, Nish Kumar, and Sam Campbell each bringing their acclaimed shows to the Corn Exchange. We’re thrilled to welcome back the ever-popular Anglia Comedy Allstars with an eclectically brilliant line up featuring Tom Allen, Fern Brady, Jack Skipper, and Darren Harriott. Expect big laughs, sharp wit, and plenty of surprises.
As the autumn nights get darker, the programme takes a suitably spooky turn. An Orchestral Tribute to Tim Burton & Dark Fantasy by Moonlight brings music from some of cinema’s most eerie and fantastical films to the stage, while Inside No. 9 and The League of Gentlemen co-creator Reece Shearsmith continues the macabre theme, sharing the strange stories and obsessions behind his work in Things I Took From The Dark.
Reece is just one of the fascinating speakers taking to the stage this upcoming season. While historians Lucy Worsley and Mary Beard take us from Britain’s royal residences to the secret history of Ancient Rome, food lovers can join Yotam Ottolenghi for Simple Too Live! combining cooking, conversation, and plenty of culinary inspiration.
As autumn gives way to winter, our thoughts inevitably turn to Christmas, with festive magic, nostalgic singalongs and plenty of laughter heading to the Corn Exchange. Experience the timeless beauty of The Nutcracker and Swan Lake performed by the Mergaliyev Classical Ballet, relive the Christmas assemblies of your childhood James B. Partridge: The Big Christmas Assembly, or settle in for an evening of festive laughs as award-winning comedian and ventriloquist Nina Conti heads up Live at Christmas, alongside John Kearns, Bridget Christie and more.
From big gigs and belly laughs to fascinating stories and festive magic, there’s something for everyone at Cambridge Corn Exchange this Autumn/Winter.
